Robin Leslie Grismore

1951-2022

Robin Leslie Grismore, née Harris, loving mother, wife and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on June 9, 2022. Robin was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and was raised in Holladay, Utah. Robin graduated from Rowland Hall St. Marks High School, where she was on the tennis team. She attended the University of Utah, where she met her husband and love of her life, Bill Grismore. Bill and Robin were married at her parent’s home in Holladay. They had one daughter together who they both cherished and loved. Robin worked in the Accounting Department of Skaggs Drug Centers, and at the Utah Mental Health Association for a short time, but her main focus in life was caring and attending to her family and home.

Robin had a long list of interests and hobbies. She loved animals, especially cats, and was a docent at Hogle Zoo for several years during the 1980s. She loved to cook and bake for her family, gardening, landscaping, calligraphy, crochet, needlepoint, crafts and later in life even taught herself woodworking and upholstery. She was also an avid photographer, seamstress and knitter. She loved to photograph people, particularly her husband and daughter “in the moment” as she used to say. She was always behind the camera and rarely in front in it. Robin had a great thirst for knowledge as well as appreciation for the arts, music, literature and fine wine. She was always reading a book on something, expanding her skills and learning new things. She particularly enjoyed studying many religions and was a fan of Julia Child’s cookbooks. She also volunteered at First Presbyterian Church and Salt Lake Christian Center in the early 1990’s. She loved to dance as well and belly danced in her youth. She had a wonderfully warm and loving smile, infectious laugh and often sarcastic sense of humor. She also had an endless amount of patience and a knack for teaching. She was always happy to share her knowledge of knitting, photography, cooking, sewing or any of her skills with others.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Willard “Bill” Grismore Jr. and her parents, M.E. “Pat” and Zoe Linnea Harris. She is survived and deeply missed by her daughter, Kyle Lynn Grismore (Aric Hill) as well as her grandson, Sean Willard Grismore-Hill and her brother, Jeff Harris.
