Rosemary Wright Jones

1931-2022

St. George, UT—Rosemary Wright Jones always wanted to live to be 90 years old. The Lord gave us a bonus year, for at the age of 91 years and 4 days, on October 4, 2022, Rosemary Wright Jones, surrounded by loved ones, passed peacefully and joyfully through the veil into the arms of her two great loves: her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her husband, Merlyn Paul Jones. Rosemary was a light to this world, full of faith, generosity, and charity. She was the oldest daughter amidst Cleeo and Mary Wright’s 15 children where she nurtured from the beginning. Throughout her life, the definitive word for Rosemary has always been Mother. She shared a special love with everyone she knew.

As a young woman, Rosemary fell in love with Merlyn. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, and to this union were born eight children. Together Rosemary and Merlyn served four full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his passing, she yearned to be with him again, waiting only to serve us longer.

Rosemary is survived by her eight children, 47 grandchildren, and 144+ great-grandchildren, six siblings, and countless nieces and nephews. Children are: Sandra & Skip Name, M. Paul Jones, Creed & Renel Jones, Valiant & Lori Jones, Anne & Bart Sloat, Christine & Chad Cole, Maurice & Patrice Jones, Wesley & Ruth Jones.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Snow Canyon 13th Ward Chapel, 1610 North Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Sunday evening, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary located at 288 West St. George Blvd. and Monday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
